“Does anyone ever REALLY feel like a leader?"
Is it more a term used in reference/deference to another individual? Are we all striving for something that we are uncertain of due to concerns of “not being enough?” Numerous definitions of leadership exist in the literature. For example, a general definition may be something along the lines of the act of influencing the activities of an individual or organized group toward the achievement of a goal or vision. I will refer to P.F. Drucker, an old book but very new to me, and such a wonderful foundation for management and leadership. Drucker refers to leadership as “the lifting of a man’s vision to higher sights, the raising of a person’s performance to a higher standard, the building of a person’s personality beyond its normal limitations.” I challenge us all to reflect on how we act as leaders daily in our lives.
