The MassAFP 2026 Appetizer Series will feature high-yield lectures on impactful clinical topics delivered by local experts in the field. This session will be used as an "appetizer" to the annual Spring Refresher meeting. This year's topics will focus on breastfeeding as well as chronic pain.

Learning Objectives

• Describe and identify common clinic-based scenarios that need breastfeeding management and support
• List common contributors to breastfeeding difficulties in the first days and weeks of life 
• Understand the basics of maternal and infant breastfeeding assessment in the office, including
• • The breastfeeding brief history 
  • Maternal breast assessment 
  • Infant oral assessment 
• Formulate comprehensive management plans for common outpatient breastfeeding problems 

This session is approved for 1 live session AAFP Prescribed credit.
